● Draw The Line

Draw The Line
Throw Your Vote

2016: The Line ---◘
Bernie Sanders Tells the Truthhttp://youtu.be/rtBVuye4fZQ

Don’t throw your vote away. Many people say that when you vote for a 3rd party, you are throwing your vote away. But, it can also be argued, that when you vote for someone you don’t really believe in, you’re throwing your vote away. In other words, voting for the lesser evil, is still a vote against your own interests. When an election has a low turnout, people sometimes imply that voters are making a statement, by not voting. But, that’s exactly what big business wants. Polls show, that the more people vote, the more progressive the outcome. So, when people don’t vote, they’re unwittingly yielding to corporate interests. If you vote for the lesser evil, or decline your vote, you are actually being manipulated by the 1%. One way of looking at it, is that the only way to completely throw your vote away, is to not vote. Just think, if everyone who didn’t vote in 2000 (because they were fed up with the two party system), voted for Ralph Nader of the Green Party. What would've happened? Bush still would’ve won, but the Green Party would be a viable party today. We would have a three party system by now, and that would be a major accomplishment! That would be a far greater accomplishment, than electing the Wall Street Corporate Drone Captain/Deporter in Chief, Barack Obama.

2016 Primary Schedule http://uspresidentialelectionnews.com/2016-presidential-primary-schedule-calendar

Both corporate parties keep moving to the right. So, we have to draw the line somewhere. We can draw the line between elected officials who represent private corporations, and our public representatives who actually represent the public. Bernie Sanders & Jill Stein are not afraid to stand up to big multinational corporations and hold them accountable, in favor of human rights. Both, Bernie Sanders and Jill Stein have demonstrated that they can't be bought, and will not be bought by corporate interests. Hillary & the Republicans are already corporate bought! That’s why it’s imperative that Democrats vote for Bernie Sanders in the Primaries. Let the Democrats in Washington know, early on, that there will be no vote (for Hillary) for corporate interests in 2016. The Choice will be between Bernie Sanders of the Democrats or Jill Stein of the Green Party.

Earth Day: April 22nd
( Spring in the Northern Hemisphere
/ Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere ),
a day of awareness, appreciation, and activism for the Earth's environment. Earth day was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson in 1970, and is now recognized in many countries around the world.

March Equinox ( Spring Equinox Northern Hemisphere )
The United Nations celebrates an Earth Day each year on the March Equinox (often March 20th), a tradition which was founded by peace activist John McConnell in 1969.

Earth Day transcends all national borders to celebrate our home, our planet, and life itself, to reflect on our health and ability to live in harmony with our environment, ourselves, and to rethink our approach to how we can move forward in achieving a less destructive, more harmonious future.

I CAN'T BREATHE

Protests in solidarity with the Eric Garner case...

t

Eric Garner repeated his last words, “I CAN’T BREATHE” eleven times, as the New York City police officer’s illegal chokehold caused his death. I CAN’T BREATHE, has become a major protest cry against police brutality and the killing of unarmed innocent African American men. Authorities try to suppress the truth, with the only arrest in the death of Eric Garner being the person who video recorded the NYPD committing the crime of killing an innocent man.

Fossil Fuel : A Double Irony

Human beings have hit the Earth like an asteroid.
Frack No: Fracking = Climate Chaos = Droughts ☠
Frack No: Fracking = Climate Chaos = Droughts  http://youtube.com/watch?v=fjENDdBqMWA

☞ With over 400,000 people flooding the streets of New York City, around Columbus Circle at West 59th Street and Central Park West, this was the largest climate march ever. The public is awake, while privilege and power are delirious with greed. There is a bit of irony, in that the industry, which is largely responsible for the contamination of the Earth's atmosphere and ultimately the destruction of life as we know it, is called the fossil fuel industry. The rate of species extinction today is the same as it was 65 million years ago, when an asteroid hit the Earth, causing the dinosaurs to become extinct, leaving behind little more than their fossils. But, as Noam Chomsky put it, "now, we are the asteroid." ❀ There is a choice. Either, we go the way of the dinosaur, or fossil fuel goes the way of the dinosaur. Sustainable living is not only possible, but it's absolutely necessary for survival.

"The question in brief is whether democracy and freedom are values to be preserved or threats to be avoided. In this possibly terminal phase of human existence, democracy and freedom are more than values to be treasured; they may well be essential to survival."

The Corporate Media

A documentary that deserves to be watched and re-watched...
This 1992 documentary film Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media observes the political life and ideas of the intellectual, activist, & linguist Noam Chomsky. The documentary created by Mark Achbar and Peter Wintonick is largely based on Chomsky's earlier book, Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media, co-written with Edward S. Herman.

● Nowhere To Run

Nowhere To Run ☠
   * Nowhere To Hided *
Israel sends messages to warn the people of Gaza, of Israeli Bombing, and then Israel bombs the areas of refuge. They claim they've hit all of their intended targets with precision. Now we know what their targets are, mainly, the innocent, mostly children, and very few are even suspects of any kind. But, the larger picture is, that Palestinians have been under a daily brutal and violent oppression from Israel for decades. And, it is the oppressed who have the moral and legal right to resist their oppressors, not the other way around. World opinion and international law are with Palestine. Americans urgently need to join the rest of the world in demanding a ceasefire. Israel is wiping Palestine off the map, right before our eyes, while claiming to be the victims of the rare and pitiful backlash of their own violence.

☼ Peace and ceasefire agreements require an ending of the siege on Gaza and a removal of the illegal settlements in the West Bank. Israel has never been able to comply. American tax dollars are sent to Israel for the purpose of purchasing arms from U.S. weapons manufacturers. It is a business, the U.S. corporate media will not report. We need to stop supporting the massacre, and demand peace now!

● either OR

* either OR it's a private party *
   * RESIST PRIVATE POWER *
Unfortunately, there is not enough difference between the two political business parties. Democrats are also for war, austerity, and private over public interests. And, Republicans claim that’s socialism. Almost all of the political pressure comes from the right, hence most of Obama's policies are republican policies. Obama has extended the Bush Tax Cuts, renewed the Patriot Act, deported more immigrants than Bush, bailed out the 1%, implemented austerity for the 99%, escalated the war in Afghanistan, increased U.S. drone attacks, and has legalized the assassination of anyone (including American citizens) without due process. He supports the ongoing Israeli invasion and occupation of Palestine. And, ObamaCare is RomneyCare. Both corporate health care laws are conservative, market-based, right-wing, republican ideas. In the words of Jonathan Gruber (designer of both plans), they are “the same f***ing bill." Given that, U:RESIST does support voting for Obama in swing states, because Romney would actually be much worse. For more on this read, Progressives: In Swing States, Vote for Obama by Daniel Ellsberg rootsaction.org

In states that are not swing states U:RESIST supports Jill Stein of the Green Party, (jillstein.org) because real change will not happen without strengthening alternative voices, such as those advocating for peace, civil liberties, and a green economy.

The list goes on.
On many issues, Barack Obama has been further to the right than even our most extreme right-wing Presidents, including Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan. The corporate media and Republicans keep saying that Obama is going to take away your guns, but the truth is that he has been extremely lax on gun laws. Just as the so-called "government takeover" of healthcare is actually a continued corporate control of healthcare, Obama has supported the Charter School Movement to privatize and close public schools (a Milton Friedman dream), even though research shows that children are clearly left behind in the process. In terms of negotiations, he has even said that, "everything is on the table", including cuts to our social safety net, something that even Nixon realized was off limits. And, in response to the economic crisis, he didn't reinstate the very badly needed Glass–Steagall Act, which separates commercial banks (consumer oriented) from investment banks (speculative), to ensure they won't gamble with our retirement, essentially protecting Main Street from Wall Street. Even the Volcker Rule of the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act has an exception for the largest financial institutions, rendering it practically useless. Nixon had the EPA, but now with climate change looming, Obama has gone further than just not supporting necessary climate initiatives, he has obstructed international climate accords, only to ensure that the private interests of a wealthy few are upheld, over the interests, health, and safety of the world population. And now, the war agenda is not Republican driven, but is fully and equally owned by the Democrats. The President may have ended the war in Iraq (not the occupation), but also had worked to extend it, only to be pushed to end it by a date originally set by Bush. We also should be very concerned about a President with a kill list, and the likelihood that it will be passed on to future leaders. The unlawful prison at Guantanamo Bay remains open, along with U.S. secret prisons around the world. War crimes and torture haven't stopped, only the opposition from democrats. At least under a Republican administration, Democrats are against war.

Even though Mitt Romney would be worse, we can't fool ourselves any longer into thinking that we have a liberal president. Although, unlike Mitt Romney, Obama can be, and even wants to be pushed to do what's right for the people. So ultimately, it is up to us. Because Romney would be so much worse, U:RESIST supports voting for Obama in swing states (rootsaction.org) but in return, sending a message by voting for (a real candidate for change) Jill Stein (jillstein.org) in all of the states that are not swing states. Don't worry, ...the day that the Green Party has enough influence to turn an election in a state that is not a swing state, that will truly be a day of real hope and change, that will cause positive political waves far greater and more important than a win or loss from either corporate party.
